Flat Sheet with Top Hem

A flat sheet with top hem is use to cover the body to bring comfort and warmth along with the duvet cover.

Flat sheet hem treatment is a fashion to coordinate with the quilt/ comforter /blanket or the duvet cover.  It is engineered on the top side of the sheet and necessarily the sheet with the top hem has to be laid only on the top side of the bed, and not vice versa.

When one makes a bed, the hem pattern side of the top sheet is placed facing down and then the top edge is folded towards the foot of the bed, thus enforcing the design and adding the aesthetic purpose required.

Duvet Cover

Duvet covers acts as shell to the quilt, the quilt goes inside the duvet cover which can be taken off and laundered.

It has one side with opening to fill in the quilt.

Most duvet covers have a button or tie closure at its opening.

The filled duvet cover is used for providing warmth to the body and not used as a bed sheet.

Bed skirt / Valance 

Bed skirt is a piece of decorative fabric that is placed between the mattress and box spring of bed

The purpose of a bed skirt is to give a stylish appearance to a bed without exposing the sides of the box spring or any space under the bed that may be used for storage.

It prevents dust from accumulating under the bed.
